The Madison D2 cabinet is constructed just slightly oversized vs. most others out there. This gives the drivers more room to breath and thus increases the thickness of the over all tone.
When it comes to the D2 series cabinets the most important factor is that they are made in the USA in the Madison cabinet shop by professionals that have been making guitar, bass and PA cabinets for 2 decades for not only ourselves but for other amplifier manufacturers as well. Most 412 cabinets have the drivers mounted on the inside of the cabinet. This is done for one main reason (so they can size down the cabinet for cheaper shipping). Mounting the drivers on the outside of the baffle board you gain a more broad display of sound.
