The D1 cabinet is a massively over sized 212 cab. Close to a 412 size loaded with dual 12's. With our XL design you get the depth and warmth of a 412 and in a more manageable package. The coolest part is that you only have two Celestion speakers so they get driven a little harder by a standard 100 to 120 watt amplifier. This really brings out the brilliance of the speaker and tight sound over all without having to push your amp as hard. So basically it's the best of everything..... Good bottom end, warm tone, light weight cabinet that also looks good under a full size amplifier and most importantly, you save a few bucks on speakers.
When it comes to the D1 series cabinets the most important factor is that they are made in the USA in the Madison cabinet shop by professionals that have been making guitar, bass and PA cabinets for 2 decades for not only ourselves but for other amplifier manufacturers as well. Most 412 cabinets have the drivers mounted on the inside of the cabinet. This is done for one main reason (so they can size down the cabinet for cheaper shipping). Mounting the drivers on the outside of the baffle board you gain a more broad display of sound.
